Logan County Middle School’s lost to Drakes Creek 30-14 on Saturday in front of a large crowd at Rhea Stadium.

The game was bittersweet for head coachTodd Adler. “We had five turnovers and we’re not exactly in game condition yet,” he said in comments after the game.

“We’ve been fighting a lot of kids being sick this week so I was curious to see how that would impact us,” he continued. “We got a ways to go, but we’re on the right track of becoming a good football team.”

There were some outstanding moments in Saturday’s game including a 75 yard TD pass from Tyler Ezell to Devon Barnes on a third down and 20 play.

Strong running by Cameron Munday and the defensive play of the Cougars kept the game interesting to the end.

Overall, the hustle and commitment these young Logan County football players show make for a bright future for Cougars football.

Next up for the middle school Cougars is a game at Warren East on Tuesday night August 18 at 6pm.
