Pedro Bradshaw continues to etch his name into the Panther record books before ending his high school career and heading to Belmont University. He had already beaten Coach Phil Todd’s rebound record that stood for many years. He now has 1135 rebounds. Coach Todd remains in second place with 1106. On Tuesday night, Bradshaw became the all-time leading scorer in Panther history.

Just before halftime in the tournament game against Todd County, Pedro hit a layup in double coverage to give him 1848 career points. The all-time record in school history was 1847 and was held by Maurice “Squeeky” Hampton, who graduated from Russellville High School in 2002. Bradshaw added 13 more before the end of the game for a current career point total of 1,861. The Panthers beat the Rebels 84-59.

The number two seed Panthers were matched up with the number three Rebels in the first round of the district tournament this week. Franklin-Simpson beat Logan County on Monday. Russellville started the game slow and steady as Todd County came out firing. The game was close for the first quarter. As the Rebels began to run out of gas, the Panthers were just getting started. Russellville scored 27 points in the third quarter. Shon Kees got hot and dropped 12 of those on Todd County. Kees finished with 14 on the night. Jaylyn McMurry scored nine during the third, on his way to a 14 point game as well. Jacob Naylor also scored 14, nine of those coming from long balls in the second quarter. Pedro Bradshaw was heavily guarded all night, but managed to power his way to a 22 point finish.

The Panthers will play tournament hosts Franklin-Simpson Friday night at 7 p.m.
