Logan County teams tip off on ‘16-‘17

The Logan County Cougars and Lady Cougars have officially started the 2016-2017 season. The Cougars are playing five Seniors this season. The Lady Cougars have four.

The Cougars, coached by Lonnie Mason, played their first game of the season on Monday against Warren East. Logan County won the game 62-59.

On Tuesday, the Greenwood Gators came to Logan County High School. The Cougars were able to keep the score close before halftime, but Greenwood leaped ahead in the second half. The Gators handed the Cougars their first loss of the young season by a score of 75-57.

The Lady Cougars started their year on the road Tuesday night. They hope to continue the success from last year’s (22-9) season. Coach Finley Baird’s team traveled to Edmonson County to face the Lady Cats. The Lady Cougars had a hard time on the road on Tuesday. Edmonson County won big, 74-45.

The Lady Cougars will travel to Russell County on Friday. The Cougars will play at Muhlenberg County on Saturday.
