The Logan County middle school football teams hosted the second round of the district tournament on Saturday. The South Warren Spartans brought both 7th and 8th grade teams to compete against the Cougars. The 7th grade Cougars were eliminated by a score of 28-0. The 8th grade team won 20-12 and will advance to the regional tournament.

This past Saturday the RMS football team traveled to Edmonson County to take on the Wildcats in the second round of the KYMSFA State playoffs. This game proved to be one of the best middle school football games of the year. With the Panthers trailing 12-6 at half time, Coach Ries and his staff urged the young panthers to dig deep in the second half and tighten up their defense. The Panthers would respond and do just that, holding the Wildcats scoreless in the second half. The Panthers offense would muster up just enough offense to come away with a 14-12 road victory.

The Panthers will now travel back to Edmonson Co this Saturday October 22nd to face Owensboro Catholic in the regional finals. Kick off is scheduled for 12:00.
