Only three games remain in the regular season for our local high school football teams. While one team, the Russellville Panthers, enjoys a season on cruise control, the Logan County Cougars have struggled throughout 2016.

The Panthers will celebrate homecoming this Friday at Rhea Stadium. Coach John Myers’ football team will play in front of the Russellville crowd putting a flawless (7-0) record on display. The Friday night Panther victims will be the Fulton City Bulldogs. The Bulldogs have a record of (1-7.) The lone win came against Fulton County, the team that Russellville beat 60-0 on Sept. 30. The contest starts at 7:30 p.m.

Logan County will play the final home game of the 2016 season on Friday. The Cougars are currently (0-7.) Coach Todd Adler and his team hope to end the streak before the end of the year. Friday night could prove to be a favorable opportunity for Logan County. The Cougars take on the Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons. The Maroons are (2-6) this season. Logan County will be celebrating Senior night. The game starts at 7 p.m. at Logan County High School.
