The Fulton County Pilots did not offer much of a fight for the Russellville Panthers on Friday night. The Panthers continue to tear through the 2016 season. They are now 7-0 on the year with three regular season games remaining.
Russellville won at Fulton County by a final score of 60-0. They now have three shutouts this season. The Panthers lead Class A in points scored with 333.
Russellville scored nine touchdowns in the game – but only four of those came from the Panther offense.
The Panthers got three defensive touchdowns – two interception returns by Drew West and Jacob Naylor and a fumble return for for a touchdown by Devin Quarles.
MJ Jones scored twice on special teams for the Panthers, with the offense making up the remaining touchdowns.
Quarterback Jaylin McMurry threw just one pass – a 52-yard touchdown to Jordan Blick. McMurry, Bryson Thomas and Chris Matthews each had one rushing touchdown apiece.
The Fulton County offense managed just 27 yards against the Panthers – 10 rushing and 17 passing.
Russellville was led in rushing by Edward Barber, who ran the ball four times for 46 yards. Damon Hales had three carries for 23 yards. No other Panthers carried the ball more than once as plenty of players got to play in the game.
Russellville will be back in action Friday, Oct. 14 when the Panthers host Fulton City in another Class A, District 1 contest.
