Local Softball teams hope to continue winning

The Russellville Lady Panthers have won two in a row and are looking for the third as they welcome Warren Central to town on Tuesday. Left fielder Susanna Higgins bats against Logan County earlier in the season.


Logan County’s Jillian McLellan gets a hit earlier in the season. The Lady Cougars have won 12 games so far this season, including the last six in a row.


The Logan County Lady Cougars softball team have now patched together a (12-8) record. Brandy Trimble’s ladies are riding a six game winning streak as of press time. The Lady Cougars play Hart County at home Monday evening. They will then make the half hour trip down Highway 100 to visit the Franklin-Simpson Lady Wildcats on Tuesday. FSHS won the first meeting big, 12-1.

Russellville softball is holding on to a winning streak as well. The Lady Panthers are winners of the last two games that they have played. They expect to make it three in a row. The (0-15) Warren Central Lady Dragons will come to Russellville on Tuesday. On Thursday, The Lady Panthers head to Morgantown to face the Lady Bears.
