Little League All-Stars open tourney with win

The Logan County Little League 11-12 All-Stars opened up postseason play with a solid 4-1 in on Saturday in Ohio County.

The Logan All Stars beat Warren County South in their first game of pool play in the Little League district tournament.

Anthony Woodard hit a three-run walk off homerun in the bottom of the seventh inning to seal the win.

Jackson Hampton led off the seventh inning with a single. Macon Barrow followed with another single. Then with one out Woodard sent a line drive over the left center field fence.

Macon Barrow pitched into the fourth inning allowing only one hit and no runs. Trevor Scott then pitched into the seventh, until he was relieved by Blake Wood. Wood got the win, throwing just 11 pitches.

Zach Yates had two hits.

Anthony Woodard had three hits including the game winning homerun.

Jackson Hampton, Macon Barrow, Jessie Price and Blake Wood each had a hit.

Next up in pool play for the All-Stars is a game on Monday morning versus Bowling Green East. Then games on Tuesday 10 a.m. against Franklin and Wednesday at noon against Owensboro Southern.
