The Logan County High School girls’ basketball team continued is recent run of success last week by claiming a third straight District 13 championship.

On Thursday night, the Lady Cougars knocked off Franklin-Simpson 47-41 to win the third straight district title under coach Finley Baird. All of the district championship games over the past three seasons have seen the Lady Cougars beat Franklin-Simpson for the title.

Logan County ended the regular season with an overall record of 20-10.

Both the Lady Cougars and Lady Cats advanced to the Fourth Region Tournament by finishing in the final game of the district tournament.

Logan County drew Allen County-Scottsville in the region draw and played them on Sunday. Franklin-Simpson was scheduled to play South Warren on Tuesday.
