The Logan County High School girls’ basketball team advanced to the District 13 championship with a 69-61 victory over Todd County Central at Russellville High School’s Jim Young Gymnasium.

The Lady Cougars beat the Lady Rebels in all three meetings this season.

Torrie Pollard led LCHS in scoring with 22 points – including two 3-pointers. Rachel Barnett finished with a double-double by scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. So did Brooke Barnes, who logged 10 points and 10 boards. Cierra Johnson nearly made it three players with double-doubles as she scored 14, but came up just one rebound shy with nine.

Todd County Central was led in scoring by Alexis O’Daniel, who had 18 points.

Logan County was scheduled to face Frankin-Simpson in Thursday’s championship game.

The Lady Cats knocked off host Russellville 36-29 on Tuesday night.

Russellville’s season ended with the loss. The Lady Panthers finished with an overall record of 13-13 – a huge improvement over last year’s 5-20 mark.

Both Logan County and Franklin-Simpson will advance to next week’s Fourth Region Tournament, which will be played at WKU’s E.A. Diddle Arena.
