The Russellville High School boys’ basketball team cruised into the finals of the District 13 Tournament on Tuesday with an 81-63 victory over Logan County at Jim Young Gymnasium.

The win was the third of the season over the Cougars, who saw their season come to an end with the loss.

The Panthers were led in scoring by Pedro Bradshaw, who finished with 26 points. Jason Mitchell wasn’t far behind with 20 points of his own and Jacob Naylor finished with 18. Jaylyn McMurry added eight points and Micah Naylor scored five.

Logan County got a team-high 21 points from Dalton Furlow in the loss. Lorenzo Garcia added 17 and Austin Rayno tallied seven.

Russellville led just 39-31 at halftime, but outscored Logan County 24-14 in the third quarter to take a comfortable lead into the final quarter.

The Panthers will now face Franklin-Simpson in the district championship game on Friday night. The two teams split in the regular season with the Wildcats winning 70-50 on Feb. 2 in Russellville and the Panthers winning 59-52 on Jan. 15 in Franklin.

Franklin-Simpson beat Todd County Central 65-40 on Monday to advance to the championship game.

Regardless of the outcome, both Russellville and Franklin-Simpson will be moving on to next week’s Fourth Region Tournament in Bowling Green at E.A. Diddle Arena.

Logan County’s season ends with the loss. The Cougars finish the year with a 10-14 overall record.
