The Logan County High School basketball teams celebrated senior night last week in the final night of games of the regular season for the boys and girls teams.

The Lady Cougars won their final game of the regular season with a 62-34 victory over Greenwood on Thursday, but the Cougars fell 71-59 to Greenwood in the nightcap.

For the Logan County girls, the win over Greenwood snapped a two-game losing streak and gave the Lady Cougars momentum heading into this week’s District 13 Tournament, which will be played at Russellville High School’s Jim Young Gymnasium.

The Lady Cougars had dropped back-to-back games to Grayson County and South Warren before turning things around in a big way against the Lady Gators.

Logan County ends the regular season with an impressive 19-8 overall record and can reach the 20-win plateau with a victory over Todd County Central in the first round of the district tournament. That game was scheduled for Monday night.

In the boy’s game, Dalton Furlow led the Cougars in scoring with 18 points – including three 3-pointers – in the defeat. Austin Rayno added eight points while Kelby Epley, Garrison Rosser and Sedale Shannon each scored six.

The Cougars end the regular season with a 10-13 record. They will take on Russellville tonight in the first round of the District 13 Tournament.
