On Friday night, January 22, the Franklin-Simpson Lady Wildcats (5-15) and Wildcats (14-3) will travel to Logan County High School for this season’s second District 13 matchup against the Lady Cougars (14-4) and Cougars (8-8).
The Logan County squads last played on Saturday in Clarksville, TN and both teams won their games. The Franklin-Simpson teams last played on Tuesday night at Greenwood High School in Bowling Green; the Lady Wildcats lost their contest 24-44 and the boys won their game 60-52.
Look for two good games on Friday night.
The Lady Wildcats come into Friday’s game with a 1-1 district record; they lost to the Lady Cougars 27-53 in Franklin in December.
The Lady Cougars have a 4-0 District 13 record and with a win on Friday night will clinch the top seed in the District 13 Tournament coming up at the close of the regular season.
The Wildcats have a 1-1 district record and in December they defeated the Cougars in Franklin, 84-46.
The Cougars, showing improvement in every contest, will look to avenge their earlier loss in Franklin. The December game was an intense and at times physical contest. It was closely contested through three quarters, but late in the game the Wildcats overwhelmed the visiting Cougars.
The girl/boy doubleheader event will tip off at 6pm with the girls’ game. The boys’ game will start at approximately 7:30pm.
