Lady Cougars 64 at Clarksville Northeast 43

The Logan County Lady Cougars defeated Clarksville Northeast on Saturday 64-43.

The win brings the Lady Cougars overall record to 14-4 on the season.

Taleia Mason led the team in scoring with 16 points. Torrie Pollard added 11 points and Brooke Barnes had 10 points.

Next up for the Lady Cougars is a game at home versus the Franklin-Simpson Lady Wildcats. This will be the second meeting of the two District 13 teams this year; LCHS defeated Franklin-Simpson in Franklin in December 53-27. Tip-off is on Friday night, January 22, at 6pm at LCHS Main Gym.

Panthers 68 at Purples 75

Bowling Green is the region’s top-ranked team, outscoring opponents by nearly 400 points in their 17-2 overall record so far, but they had to rely on free throws to get by the Russellville Panthers on Saturday.

Coming off a victory on Friday night over the Franklin-Simpson Wildcats, the Panthers were unable to muster the victory and dropped the game 68-75 to the Panthers.

Pedro Bradshaw led the team in scoring with 17. Jacob Naylor and Jaylyn McMurry scored 14 apiece.

The defeat makes the Russellville overall record 11-4. The Panthers next play the Muhlenberg County Mustangs (6-10) at home on Tuesday night, January 19. Tip-off is at 6pm.

Cougars 58 at Clarksville Northeast 57

The Logan County Cougars squeaked by Clarksville Northeast 58-57 on Saturday and improved their overall record to 8-8.

Next up for the Cougars is a District 13 rematch against the Franklin-Simpson Wildcats.

The Wildcats had their way with the Cougars, 84-46, back in December in Franklin.

December’s game was very physical and hard-fought, and it was much closer than the final score would indicate. Look for a good game as the Cougars look to avenge that loss and to improve to 3-2 in district play.

Tip-off is at approx. 7:30pm, following the conclusion of the Lady Wildcats vs. Lady Cougars game that begins at 6pm.
