Logan County High School girls’ soccer standout Breanna Baptiste signed to play at Campbellsville University last week, marking the beginning of a new career for her in the sport which she helped bring to LCHS.
Baptiste was a part of the first-ever girls’ soccer team at Logan County and was a huge part of its success. A knee injury in the preseason kept her off the field as a senior, but she still had an outstanding career and led the team to its best ever season as a junior.
During the 2014 campaign, Baptiste scored a team-record 33 goals while the Lady Cougars won 14 games and a second straight district title.
As a sophomore, Baptist led the team in scoring with 23 goals as Logan County finished 10-6-1 and won its first ever district championship.
Baptiste will not be alone in signing with Campbellsville. Two of her LCHS teammates, seniors Lauren Burnett and Emma Cartas will be signing to play for the same college team next month.
