The Logan County Lady Cougars fell to the Fifth Region Caverna Lady Colonels 57-71 this past Monday night at Caverna.
The victory gives the Lady Colonels a 4-0 record and sits them alone at the top of the Fifth Region standings.
For the Lady Cougars, now 2-2 for the year, the loss no doubt gives greater motivation to the team as they travel to Franklin on Friday night to face the Lady Wildcats (1-3) in their second District 13 match-up of the season.
The girls’ gam, scheduled for tip-off at 6pm, is the first of a double-header at Franklin-Simpson High School on Friday night.
At approximately 7:30pm, the Cougars will play the Wildcats in a boys’ District 13 contest.
The Cougars are 1-2 on the year, while the Wildcats are 4-0 and in first place in Region 4 standings.
The wildcats are led by their standout, Tovan Lovan. Lovan’s injury early in last year’s campaign sent the Wildcats on the way to a 9-18 record. Back this year and healthy, Lovan is now averaging over 20 points per game and the Wildcats are expected to go far.
Expect a fast-paced and exciting game on Friday night. The game will be a tough test for Head Coach Lonnie Mason’s young Cougars.
