DeAndre “Pedro” Bradshaw, no doubt having been hungry for a chance to get on the court again, satisfied his appetite to the tune of 28 points, leading the Panthers to a victory, 76-60, over Warren East High School last Tuesday night in the Panthers’ regular-season opener in Bowling Green.
The victory, called an upset win by many, was the first defeat of the Raiders after winning their first three contests (including a victory over the Logan County Cougars on November 30).
Micah Taylor and Jason Mitchell added 14 points each in the victory. Ricky Bellamy, Jacob Naylor, Jaylyn McMurry, and Paul Jones all scored in the game.
The Panthers are favored to go to 2-0 on Friday night, as they travel to Elkton to play the Todd County Central Rebels in their first District 13 game of the year. The game, the nightcap of a double-header girls’/boys’ meeting, will tip-off at approximately 7:30pm. For the Rebels, this will be the second District 13 game and they will be looking for their first overall victory after a 0-3 start.
The Panthers will play their home-opener on Tuesday, December 15 versus Allen County-Scottsville. Tip-off for that game is scheduled for 7:30pm in Jim Young Gym.
