On Thursday night, October 15, Logan County High School played host to South Warren for a Volleyball match-up that would be the last non-tourney game of 2015 for the Lady Cougars. In a closely contested match, the Lady Cougars lost 1-3 (23-25, 25-18, 25-21, and 25-22).
Next for the Lady Cougars was the Toyota of Hopkinsville Western Kentucky Smack Down on October 16 and 17. In this meeting the Lady Cougars won five contests to finish the season. The victories were over Hopkinsville, Ballard Memorial, Greenwood, Valley and South Warren.
The Cougars finished the season with a 28-6 overall record, including a 15-1 Region four and a 10-0 District 13 record.
The Russellville Panthers Volleyball team had finished their season a few days before Logan County. The Panthers last won on October seventh with a victory over Butler County at home. The Lady Panthers finished with a 3-17 overall record and a 0-6 record in District 13 play.
The District 13 volleyball tournament will be played on Tuesday night at the Franklin-Simpson gym.
Logan County is the number one seed and will play number four seed Russellville in the opening game at 5:30 pm.
In the middle game of the triple-header, Franklin-Simpson will play Todd County Central at approx. 6:30 pm.
The Championship game will close the evening and feature the winners of the opening round games. It is scheduled to begin at approx. 7:30 pm.
