In a game that was close in the first half, the Russellville Panthers ended with 409 rushing yards on its way to a 42-21 victory over Fort Campbell on Friday night.

The 2015 home-opener at Rhea Stadium was well attended by fans of the Panthers, and while this game did not see the sudden explosiveness of the Panther offense like in last week’s victory over Trigg County, Panther Nation never doubted the outcome of this one.

Panther QB Jaylyn McMurry attempted only three passes in this one for only one completion. The completion was for the biggest reward, however, as his pass to Jordan Blick was for 32 yards and a touchdown.

The Panthers had six players rush for double figures, led by MJ Jones who carried eleven times for 172 yards and scored four touchdowns. Drew West added 90 yards, Joshua Bigbee and Jaylyn McMurry added 56 yards each. Jacolbie Mason rushed for 20 yards and Damon Hales rushed for 15 yards and scored a touchdown. Milam Watkins kicked four extra points.

Next up for the Panthers is a trip to Morgantown to face the Butler County Bears on Friday September 4 at 7pm.
