On Friday, August 21 the Logan County Cougars travel to Morgantown to face the Butler County Bears in the opening game of the 2015 season for both teams. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.

It was nearly a year ago when the Cougars played host to the Bears in the 2015 season opener and lost that game 41-0.

In addition to playing for pride and vengeance of last year’s shut-out loss, all of Cougar Nation will be looking for a turn-around and a victory to snap LCHS’s current 23-game losing streak.

Head Coach Steve Duncan’s Cougars are a better team this year. Playing in a perhaps friendlier Class 4A District 1 may help in a Cougars bounce-back better year.

This game, however, is a non-Class 4A game as the Bears are in Class 2A. The Cougars’ first district game is on the road at Hopkins County Central on September 25.

Next week the Cougars are at home versus the Class 6A Mustangs of Muhlenberg County.
