The Russellville Panthers traveled to Fulton County to face the Pilots on Friday. The Panthers came home with a huge win of 65-20 to bring their season record to 5-2.
The Panthers started the first quarter strong with a 9 yard touchdown pass from Barrett Croslin to Dustin Morgan early in the quarter. This was quickly followed by a 27 yard rush by Dequan Beard. The Pilots scored at the end of the quarter, but Russellville scored a 2 yard touchdown rush by Beard to bring the score to 21-8 at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter started with a 13 yard touchdown pass from Croslin to Josh Hampton. Morgan would score two more rushing touchdowns and Tacorian Darden would score a one yard rush to end the half 50-8.
The Panthers scored early in the third quarter with a 46 yard touchdown rush by Darden and the Panthers ended the quarter with a 55 yard rush by Lee McMurray to bring the game to 65-14. The last quarter was slow for the Panthers and the Pilots would score once to bring the final score to 65-20.
The Panthers ended the game with 461 rushing and 30 yards passing for a total of 491 yards. Demarcus Hampton lead the Panthers with 131 rushing yards followed by Darden with 118 yards rushing. Croslin had a total of 30 yards passing and Josh Hampton had 21 yards receiving.
The Panthers will face Fulton City at the Tobacco Bowl on Oct. 13.
