The Russellville Panthers faced the Caverna Colonels on Monday night. The Panthers played hard and won the game 10-7.
The Panthers started the game off early and were able to get a run in the first inning and add another one in the second inning. In the top of the third, the Colonels would attempt to take the lead. The Colonels would make some good hits and add five runs to the score board, leading 5-2 going into the bottom of the third.
But the Panthers were not done yet, the Panthers would add six more runs to the board in the third inning, gaining a 8-5 lead over the Colonels. The Colonels would add another run in the fourth inning, still behind 6-8.
Zach Denney stepped up to the plate in the fourth, hitting a home run outside the park in right field. Denny’s run would put the Panthers up 9-6.
The Panthers would finish out the game and end with a 10-7 victory over the Colonels.
The Panthers will travel to Muhlenberg County tonight to face the Mustangs.
