The Logan County Lady Cougars welcomed the Warren Central Lady Dragons to their first home game of the season on Tuesday. The two teams went back and forth all game but the Lady Cougars would fall short in the second half and fall to the Lady Dragons 49-55.

The first half started strong for the Lady Cougars as they stayed within a few points of the Lady Dragons and took the lead at the half with a score of 33-32. The Lady Dragons would step up their game in the second half and would outscore the Lady Cougars by only six points to end the game.

Maegann Hardinson lead the Lady Cougars with 20 points with 12 of those points from three-point shots. Kapreshia Powell followed with 11 points and Rachel Barnett and Katelyn Jones with six points each.

“I’m very pleased with the girls. We are smaller and don’t look as fast but we hung in there and I’m very happy. I have the girls playing in shifts where they play as hard as they can for about 45 seconds. We get the girls moving and get girls in there who didn’t play much last year,” said head coach Scot MacAllister. “I’m excited and I think we are going to get better as the season goes on and get people healthy.”

The Lady Cougars will face the Greenwood Lady Gators on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
