The Logan County Cougars faced the Muhlenberg County Mustangs on Friday night. The Cougars took the victory after nine innings to win the game 4-3. The Cougars also recognized their seven seniors that will be leaving after this season.

The Mustangs would start off in the first inning, adding one run to the scoreboard. Before they could get another, senior pitcher Blake Gettings would strike out two in a row to put the Cougars up to bat.

Senior Gage Hales would start off the Cougars with a good hit to put him on first. Caleb Bruner would be up next, also hitting a single and moving Hales to third base. Hales managed to make it to home to tie up the game 1-1 as they moved on to the second inning.

The Cougars were able to snag three quick outs in the top of the second, bringing them back to the plate. Seniors Ryan Basham and Thomas Miller would both get singles to put them on base. Hales would get another good hit for the Cougars and get the bases loaded. Basham would make it to home, putting the Cougars in the lead of 2-1 going into the third.

The Cougars would once against prevent the Mustangs from scoring, and head into the bottom of the third. Senior Dustin Cartas would lead off for the Cougars, hitting a long shot to get him onto second base. Matt Harper would single, advancing Cartas to third base. Ian Woodall would walk, loading the bases. Ryan Basham would get a hit, driving in Cartas to put the Cougars up 3-1 going into the fourth.

The game would be quiet until the top of the seventh. The Mustangs had a base runner when they hit a homerun, which would tie up the game 3-3 going into the bottom of the seventh. The Cougars would get three straight outs, moving the game on to the eighth inning.

Both teams would not be able to make any plays in the eighth inning, which led the game into the ninth inning. The Cougars would play smart and get three quick outs, leading the Cougars to the plate one last time.

Woodall would get the Cougars started with a single. Senior Cody Hunt was next up to bat, also getting a single for the Cougars. Basham would bunt, which led to Woodall getting out on third but advancing Hunt to second base. Michael Riley would come in for Hunt. Miller would get a single for the Cougars, driving in Riley to win the game.

Blake Gennings pitched a majority of the game for the Cougars, ending the night with four strikes and allowing only one run and four hits. Matt Harper would finish out the game with one strike out and allowing two runs and four hits.

The Cougars also used the night to recognize the seniors. The Cougars have seven seniors that will be moving on after this season. These seniors include Ryan Basham, Dustin Cartas, Blake Gettings, Gage Hales, Arik Haynes, Cody Hunt and Thomas Miller.

The Cougars will play tonight at Franklin-Simpson to face the Wildcats.
