This is General Cornwallace II -a Buff Orphington pet rooster.
He is one of the newest entries into the News-Democrat & Leader’s annual “Cutest Pet” contest, sponsored by PSK, Southern States and Ventra Plastics.
He is a graduate of Crowing College International and a longtime member of Citizens Who Love Poultry Inc. His hobbies include bug collecting and flock maintenence.
If you haven’t done so yet, there’s still plenty of time left to get your pet registered for the contest.
It’s simple to register your pet.
Just click on the contest logo on the News-Democrat & Leader website (www.newsdemocratleader.com) and follow the directions. Entries will be accepted through Saturday, Sept. 29. If you don’t see the logo the first time you visit the site, click refresh or reload and it should show up.
But before that, starting Monday, Sept. 17, the entries will go before the voters. And voting will continue through Sunday, Sept. 30.
You’ll be able to solicit votes for your pet through your Facebook account and other social media outlets.
Prizes of $100 will be awarded to three Logan County winners, thanks to the generosity of local businesses PSK, Southern States and Ventra Plastics.
“We can’t thank our sponsors enough, because, without them, we would have no contest,” N-D&L general manager Lola Nash said. “And we would certainly urge everyone to support those businesses every chance they get.”
