The Logan County Cougars faced the Franklin-Simpson Wildcats on Friday night and fought a hard game against one another. The Cougars played well but fell to the Wildcats 82-73.

The Cougars started off the game with a strong lead of 20-9 after the first quarter. The Cougars would fall behind in the second quarter but still remained in the lead at halftime with a score of 37-36.

The two teams battled hard in the third quarter and ended up with a 54-54 tie at the end of the third quarter. The Wildcats turned it up and outscored the Cougars by only nine points but it was enough to take the win 73-82 to end the night.

Torin Graham lead the Cougars with 22 points. Ben Wright followed with 14 points, Clint Knight ended with 10, and Ryan Basham was close behind with nine points.

“This was a hard fought game. The effort was there but there were coaching faults made where I made bad decisions. Its my first year and I’m going to learn from those mistakes,” said head coach Lonnie Mason. “Our ball movement was much better this game I game see the improvement in the team. We need to work on being more physical but cut the fouls down.”

The Cougars will face head to Glasgow to face the Scotties tonight in an away game but will be at home on Friday when they face the Todd County Central Rebels.
