Dear Editor,

Recently I had a friend that was homeless. He is on a small fixed income and needed some assistance in his normal activities.

I contacted the owner and operator of Tackhammers - a small motel and restaurant three miles west of Russellville on US 79. She not only rented him a newly remodeled room, but it was adjacent to her living quarters with a door connecting the room. He was instructed to knock on the door during the night if he needed anything. She have him a special weekly rate about 50 percent cheaper than any motel around. The room is newly remodeled with a tile floor, color TV and is nicely arranged.

She does his laundry, assists him when needed and provides snacks, drinks and an occasional burger and fries at no cost. I know it is not about the money, but her desire to help others. What a blessing she is to my friend and others.

The menu at the restaurant is complete for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is high quality and prepared fresh and nicely priced.

By the way, she purchased an entire page in the drug enforcement magazine that helps support the local drug task force. It is sure nice to know good folk like the Ingrid Justice.
