The Russellville Parks and Rec Summer Youth League (SYL) will begins signups next week.

SYL is the summer baseball and softball program for ages 5-14.

Please read the summaries below to find out which league your child would be in. Practices will begin in late April.

Registrations will be taken:

• March 11th - 29th during office hours
• March 18th 4 pm - 6pm
• March 23rd 9 am - 12 pm

Tee Ball is for boys ages 5 and 6. Child can be 4 through the season, as long as their birthday is before July 31st.

Tee ball is the first introduction to organized baseball. Practices can be anytime during the week, but games will mainly be held on Mondays, Thursdays or Saturdays.

Softee Ball is for girls ages 5-8. Players must be 5 as of July 31st and turn 8 after January 2nd in order to play in this league.

Softee Ball is a combination of tee ball and coach pitch. Practices can be anytime during the week, games will be held Tuesdays, Thursdays and/or Saturdays.

Pitching Machine is for boys ages 7 & 8 as of May 1st of the current year.

In this league, the players will hit a ball that is thrown by a pitching machine. Games and Practices are held at Hampton Park.

Girls Softball has three different age groups: 10 & under, 12 & under and 14 & under. Girls will be placed in age groups depending on the age of of January 1st of the current year.

Practices are held at the Russellville-Logan County Park. These leagues play other communities, so there will be some traveling for games.
