And I say unto thee, that thou art Peter, and I upon this rock, I will built my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. MT 16:18 KJV

We have before us a very blessed promise to the church that Christ built during His earthly ministry. We have the promise from our leader and founder that no matter what comes at the church she will survive.

This doctrine in known as Baptis5t Church perpetuity. The word perpetuity means endless duration, continuance to eternity, continued uninterrupted existence. This is exactly what Jesus has promised for His church. Now, I will be the first to admit that you may not be able to trace every Baptist Church’s history all the way back to the first church in Jerusalem by a pedigree. I do, however, know and believe we can claim perpetuity on the unbroken promise made by Christ and by the doctrine His church practices today. The doctrines we teach and preach are apostolic and are proof that we are Christ’s true and living church.

About a year ago God began to deal with me about starting a mission work in Logan County. I know the first thing some will say is (we have plenty of churches why do we need anymore?) The truth is, we don’t have plenty of churches that preach the whole counsel of God.

I have preached in over 15 churches in the last two years. In almost everyone there have been a few who would say that they have not heard preaching like that in 50 years. To God be the glory for this. I praise God that He has given me a desire to preach the whole counsel of God. There is so much of God’s word that is not preached and practical anymore.

If you are looking for a place that hold to and teaches the grand old doctrines of the word of God, Russellville Baptist Mission is for you.

I have such a burden to get God’s people back to the old paths. Holiness and practical godly living is mocked by the modern day church and its preachers. God help us get back to the 1st century church truth and practice.

The first service of the Russellville Baptist Mission will be Oct. 14 at 2 p.m.
