The inclement weather Tuesday caused the Russellville High School boys’ basketball team to postpone its first-round game in the All A Classic regional one day, but on Wednesday night, the Panthers took care of business, winning 82-77 against Cumberland County on the road.
Win the win, Russellville advanced to the tournament semifinals, which begin at 6 p.m. tonight at Clinton County High School.
Russellville is scheduled to play Glasgow, which beat Todd County Central 71-53, in its quarterfinal matchup. The other semifinal is Monroe County vs. Clinton County. Clinton County got a bye into the semifinals while Monroe County beat Metcalfe County 67-22.
The tournament finals are scheduled for Saturday night.
With the win Wednesday, the Panthers improved their overall record to 11-7 on the year. They have also won five games in a row and seven of their last eight games.
Their next regular season game is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 22, at Glasgow. The next home game will be Friday, Jan. 25 against South Warren.
