Personal attacks are unnecessary

Dear Editor

I received a letter post marked from Nashville with a copy of the Letter to the Editor I wrote on Nov. 2 entitled, “What does America mean to you?” At the top of the copy, the anonymous send said, “I am not sure if you are ignorant or stupid.” Also enclosed was a Canadian dollar, which is called a loon. “That is probably a good thing to call you,” was written on the copy.

It sure takes a tremendous amount of gall to call someone ignorant or stupid because they have a different opinion. On top of that, you remain cowardly anonymous. We Americans should be able to agree to disagree civilly without personal attacks.

By the way, thank you for the Canadian dollar. If I do decide to more out of the country, it won’t be to Canada.
