Jesse R. “Bubba” Williams, 82, of the Stringtown Community, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at the Baptist Health Hospital in Madisonville.

He was born in New Concord on July 3, 1930, a son of the late Robert F. and Katie Alma Ferguson Williams. In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Williams; his son, Barry Jay Williams; his daughter, Sandra LeGail Dossett; his brothers, Warren and Paul Williams, and his granddaughter, Alissa Fowler.

Mr. Williams was a member of Living Hope Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and was also known as Country Comedian Bubba.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 9 at 1 p.m. in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Brother Buddy Weatherford officiating. Burial followed in the Stokes Chapel Cemetery. Visitation began at the funeral home Friday< march 8 from 5-8 p.m.

He is survived by his son, Stanley R. Williams of Ashland; his daughter, Beth A. Waller of Hopkinsville; his brothers, Robert Williams of Michigan, Billie Williams of Montana, Ralph Williams of Tennessee and Rupert Williams of Hazel; his sisters, Gail Ashbury of Michigan and Ruby Hillenburg of Indiana; nine grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
