Verna Lou Penrod, 93, of Russellville, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Magnolia Village in Bowling Green.
She was born in Clarksville, Ark. Dec. 16, 1919, a daughter of the late Aaron Chronister and the late Barbara Bean Thompson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Penrod was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Penrod.
Mrs. Penrod was a retired secretary and book keeper at a Jewelry Company and a member of United Methodist Temple.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. at Price Funeral Home with the Dr. J. Earl Coker officiating. Burial followed in the Fitzhugh Cemetery. Visitation began at the funeral home Saturday, Jan. 26 after 5 p.m.
She is survived by her great niece, Taria Dodge of Austin, Ark.
