Howard Glenn Wren, 78, of Russellville, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012.

He was born in Logan County Oct. 4, 1934, a son of the late Lois E. and Pearl Sears Wren.

Mr. Wren was in the Kentucky National Guards during the Berlin Crisis, was a long time teacher, coach and administrator working with Russellville City Schools and Daviess County Schools. He served with the Russellville City Council, Russellville Board of Parks and Recreation and the DeGraffenreid Committee. He was a positive influence on the lives of many young people and loved Russellville sports. He was a member of the Southern Heights Baptist Church where he served as an Elder.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m. at the Southern Heights Baptist Church with Brother Carl Freudenthal officiating. Visitation began Wednesday, Nov. 21 from 3 p.m. until time of service at Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janice Jones Wren; his son, Clay Wren and Maggie of Pensacola, Fla.; his daughter, Jamie Whitaker and Tim of Bowling Green; his sisters, Lois Jean Sansom and Bill of Russellville and Barbara Page and Russell of Owensboro; his grandchildren, Nicholas Wren, Erin Whitaker, Anna Wren, Cameron Wren, John Whitaker and Ann Whitaker Thompson (Ben), and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Heights Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
