Edna Earl Womack, 92, of Auburn, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at the Auburn Health Care.

She was born in Simpson County Dec. 21, 1919, a daughter of the late Cleveland C. and Zula Dee Moyers Carpenter. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Womack was preceded in death by her husband,Waymon A. Womack; her brothers, Carl Lee Carpenter and John F. Carpenter and wife June Carpenter; her sister, Louise Wren and husband Oscar.

Mrs. Womack was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church for over 70 years. She was a member of the Auburn Eastern Star chapter 328 from 1958 to 2005 where she served as secretary and Worthy Matron and when Auburn surrendered its chapter she became a member of Russellville Eastern Star Chapter 530. She worked with the Hosiery Mill and Wilson Dry Cleaners in Auburn.

She is survived by her son, Waymon Earl Womack of Louisville; her daughters, Anna Rose Nall and Don of Louisville and Sharon Kaye Blewett and Keith of Auburn; her grandchildren, Deanna Gipson (Shaun) and Amber Womack Emge (Jason), and her great-grandchildren, Taylor Gipson and Gabrielle Gipson.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the New Friendship Baptist Church at 1 p.m. with Brother Tom Lawhon, Brother Tony Chaudoin and Brother Barry Raley officiating. Burial followed in the Auburn Cemetery. Visitation began Tuesday, Dec. 11 from 3-8 p.m. at New Friendship Baptist Church and Wednesday, Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. until time of service. Young Funeral Home Auburn Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers were Rhea Dean Wren, Richard Carpenter, Zack Wren, Matt Wren, Chad Puyear, and William Puyear Jr.

The family ask that donations be made to the Gideons or the New Friendship Youth Ministry.
