Jay and Trisha Campbell won second place in the Excellence in Agriculture Contest with a cash award of $400. Carrell Hughes and Tabitha Robertson received a Gold Star for excellence for the Women’s Program. Jonathan Brown received a Gold Star for excellence for the Young Farmer program. Logan County was the top county in the 4th Farm Bureau District: Allen, Barren, Green, Logan, Metcalf, Monroe, Simpson and Warren Counties. Karyn Kutzman represented Logan County and District 4 well by singing, “Rolling in the Deep” at the Variety Showcase program.
Mark Haney, Pulaski County farmer, was re-elected president of Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB). Also re-elected were Webster County’s Eddie Melton as First Vice-President and Hart County’s J. Fritz Giesecke as Second Vice-President. They comprise KFB’s Executive Committee along with Executive Vice President David S. Beck.
Attendees had their choice of attending the following conferences: AG Chemical, Feed Grains, Wheat, Soybean, Equine, Forage, Dairy, Natural Resources, 2012 Kentucky Agricultural Economic Outlook, Beef, Forestry Horticulture, Tobacco/Farm Labor and the Trade Show with exhibits.
