The Russellville Rural Fire Department responded to a house fire Saturday, Dec. 8 at 3:08 a.m. on North Morgan Street just off of East 4th Street in Russellville.

When fire units arrived they found a one story wood frame house already fully involved with fire. The house was already a total loss when firefighters arrived, so their first effort was to save the house next to it which was already starting to catch fire.

The side of the house was quickly extinguished then efforts turned back to the fully involved house. There were also two delivery trucks for the Harvest parked directly behind the house on fire that firefighters had to get water on very quickly because they were getting a great deal of radiant heat from the intense flames.

Neighbors said they did not believe anyone was living in the house at the time of the fire. Fire units were on scene for almost four hours.
