Robert L. Sargent, 60, of Hopkinsville and formerly of Elkton, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at his home.

He was born in Todd County Feb. 20, 1952, a son of the late Walter Sargent Jr. and Margaret Bell Young Sargent. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sargent was preceded in death by his daughter, Alice Mae Humphries.

Mr. Sargent was employed with Corporate Security in Hopkinsville and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elkton.

Funeral services will be held Satuday, December 1 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Elkton with Reverend Phillip Suber officiating. Burial will follow in the Elkton-Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 30 from 6-8 p.m. at the church. Latham Funeral Home in Elkton is in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his grandmother, Jennie Sargent of Elkton; his sisters, Martha Lee Sargent, Joyce Ellen Cartwright, Mary Ann Sargent and Janet Faye Sargent all of Evansville, Ind. and Margaret A. Sargent of Cleveland, Ohio, and two grandchildren.
