Congratulations to Michaela Belcher, a 2012 graduate of Logan County High School, for receiving the first-ever Logan County Chamber of Commerce Women in Business (WIB) Scholarship.

“The Chamber is dedicated to helping develop young people to come back and be productive members of our community,” said Holli Brown, Chamber President-elect. “This scholarship in particular is meant to encourage a female high school student who is a Logan County resident to further her education through post-secondary education, whether that be at a college or technical school,” she added. The scholarship is a one-time payment of $1000, with funds being provided by donations made by women attending the WIB Luncheon and by the Chamber.

”By being involved with Logan County FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), taking accounting courses with Ms. Hazell at Russellville Area Technology Center, and working at Alicia Johnson’s Law Office, I have been able to learn the business skills necessary to be successful in college and in my future career. I’m thankful for all who helped me along the way and appreciate this scholarship very much, ” said Michaela.

Michaela is the daughter of Mike & Beth Belcher of Auburn and is attending Bowling Green Technical College and will be transferring to WKU to work on her Bachelors in Special Education.
