Rosa Anna Powell Gregory, 81, of Hopkinsville, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Christian Health Center.

She was born in Todd County Sept. 5, 1931, a daughter of the late Ether W. and Nola Powell. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gregory was preceded in death by sisters, Daisy Laster and Eula Mae Speckhardt.

Ms. Gregory retired from Western State Hospital where she was a patient aide. She also worked as a patient aide for Covingtons, Christian Health and Pembroke Nursing Homes. She also babysat a lot of children. She was a member of Calvary Memorial Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Memorial Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Dale Combs and Lt. Tony Poe officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation begins Friday, Oct. 5 from 5-9 p.m. at the Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home and Saturday, Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.

He is survived by her include seven sons, Thomas Poe and wife Pam, of Elkton, Chris Poe of Hopkinsville, Karl Poe and wife Denise of Elkton, Ralph Poe and wife Bonnie of Russellville, Reggie Poe of Galt, Calif., Tony Poe and wife Tammy of Hemet, Calif. and Michael Poe and wife Debi of Lihue, Hawaii; her daughters, Shirley Merideth of Lewisburg, Rita Jenkins of Elkton and Melinda Rogers and husband Roy and Karen Lamb, both of Hopkinsville; her brother, Mervin Powell of Galt, Calif.; her sister, Marie Massie of Elkton; 30 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
