Once again I am sitting in my little glass room thinking about what in the world I want to tell you people. My mind is like an “automatic washer”. It just flips and flops all the thoughts that run through my head and all of a sudden I zero on what I want to say!
It’s Mother’s Day. Now isn’t that a profound statement. Everybody has a mother; even the little brown squirrel that turned over my box of cheerios the other day.
The sweetest thing I heard was when I asked my friend at Wayne’s Place if he was his “Mama’s little boy” as he was growing up? He agreed. and had a smile on his face that was out of this world. Men always love their Mothers.
You see my Mother was a Yankee. She never saw a cow or a chicken except in a zoo until she moved south. Of course her mother was a “little bitty” thing. I called her “Granny on the train”. She always came to our house on the train and always sent presents that way, even my first bicycle. I am just like her, running in every direction and telling everybody what to do. The Hubby will agree with that. He reminded me last week that he did not appreciate me telling him what to do all the time. You know what I said..REALLY!
My other grandmother was the “salt of the earth”. Wore Red Cross shoes and would put her hands on her hips and say, “LADIES DON’T DO THAT”! Man, she would probably say a mouth full if she saw women today, me included. .
Hope each one of you ladies out there enjoyed every moment of your special day. Wrap those memories up and store them away in a safe place In your heart. Till next time…Bye now!
