Hello Logan County! It is good to be back and to communicate with each of you. I hope that my visits to the hospital are now over for a good while. On the plus side I have lost 97 pounds in 12 months. I hope to lose 25 more pounds before I am done. I am currently transitioning from a very big guy to hopefully a slimmer and much healthier person. I want to again thank the staff at Logan County’s excellent hospital for their outstanding care.

One of my excellent nurses was Denise Petrie who is married to Jason Petrie a candidate for State Representative. The Petrie’s stopped by and saw me earlier this week while out campaigning. They are a very pleasant family.

I was invited to a party this past Wednesday evening in Schochoh at the beautiful home of Mr. & Mrs. Lee Robey. The party honored State Representative Martha Jane King who is running for re-election and is a leader in the State Democratic Party. It was a rather large party and a beautiful one. The hosts did a fantastic job!

Two wonderful young Robey men helped me out to my car at the close of the party. (I am still recovering from my hospital stay.) One reminded me of the re-incarnation of Jessie James! Amazing resemblance! I predict that both of these two well mannered young men are going to go far in life.

There is a new restaurant in Adairville – Hot Diggily Pizza and Subs. They also have nice salads. The owners are Kenneth & Cyndi Hicks. For more information call 270-539-2009. I have eaten there twice and enjoyed my food both times. The owners have two beautiful young daughters who are a constant entertainment!

The Hicks have also leased the site of the former Costello Café. They plan to turn the site into a small market for Adairville. This will be a blessing for the town. It should be open by the end of next month.

The Red River Meeting House has all the plans in place for their 21st annual Primitive Camp Meeting And Rendezvous. The dates are October 14-16. Tom and Dreama Ruley can answer your questions by calling 270-586-7632.

The Logan County Democratic Party is hosting a big fund raiser dinner October 20th at the Logan County Extension Service Building. (This is on the by-pass in Russellville.) Tickets are $15 or two for $25. Children’s tickets (12 years old and under are $10.) Call Evelda Stearsman at 1-270-725-1508 or Shirley Haines at 1-270-726-8463 for tickets. Meet and greet will be from 5:30 till 6:30 p.m. The dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Time to go. Good night Mrs. Calabash where ever you are. Thank you.
