Let me tell you a secret! People, it is finally QUIET on the lake. You got it, FALL is finally here. No more bathing suits, no fast boats, people TRYING to ski and no more HOT WEATHER! I don’t remember a summer such as this one. My grandmother used to say, “Ladies don’t sweat”. Well, bless her soul, I did my share and I am sure a lot of ladies out there did the same. All we have to do is sit back relax and watch the leaves turn those beautiful colors.
One thing I will enjoy is the “beautiful fog mornings” on the lake. I don’t know how she does it but Mother Nature can whip up fog just like whipping cream on a cake and spread it all over this portion of the lake just outside my window. Looking out this morning I only see our boat and all the other water toys just floating on air. It is really hard to explain. You don’t see it every morning but when you do it is amazing. So sorry I can’t wrap it up and put it in my column so all you people out there can see it.
But fall is also a sad time. Just knowing that your whole life will change and you will have to drag out all those winter clothes and hope they fit!!! Put away that cool outfit that you wore to the last gathering, when you thought you were really “out of this world”. To me it is a time of switching gears in my thinking. Yep, old TG does do a lot of thinking. But I must admit I have made a complete “turn around”. That quiet person who sits by the window watching the people go by…..to that WILD WOMAN sitting in front of the TV shouting at my favorite quarterbacks. Man, for that reason I am glad it is FALL.
But it is time to reflect on that neighbor you did not visit because you thought you were so busy. That phone call that you did not make because you were on your way doing something else. Well “you all” as they say down south, I have purchased this cute little note book at the Dollar Store and I am making a list of all the things I want to accomplish this FALL because you know what happens in November and December!
Will close this conversation so I can get to my list and you can hurry to the DOLLAR STORE because they may run out of those cute little “note books”.
But before I go, do remember to enjoy the moment because it is going to get crazy around the holidays, Bye now.
