This morning when I woke up I had the most beautiful words flow into my brain. As always, I went down to my trusty computer and began writing my heart out. Then all of a sudden it was time to go to Wayne’s to have breakfast as usual.
Then we went into Russellville to do a little catching up on things we needed to do and as always dropped by Walmart. You see I got an e-mail that told me that they were going to save me two hours of shopping time each week if I used their new system. All I had to do was contact them with my grocery list and they would have it all ready for me and even put it in car. The Hubby agreed this was a great deal!
I was so excited about it I called my friend and she ask me to check on it right away because she had a relative that was disabled and this would be just wonderful.
Of course this wasn’t new to me because the Daughter told me they had already started this system in Nashville but it was not the Walmart store. So I just jumped out of the car and went right to the Customer Service desk and asked the lady there all about it. You guessed it……she looked at me as if I had two heads. Then she said she had not heard of anything like that!
As I was walking toward the meat counter the Assistant Store Manager came down the main aisle and I immediately stopped him and asked him about the e-mail that I had received. He said he had heard about it but had not received any information about his store having this service. But of course he would check on it. After he went on about his business, the Hubby laughed and looked me straight in the eye and said “don’t hold your breath until you hear from him”!
Did you see that I mentioned that I let the Hubby actually go to Walmart with me? You see I tell everyone that he is not allowed to go with me to my favorite store. Today was an exception, you see he wanted to select some “goodies” for our fishing trip the next day and he needed a bottle of glue. Don’t faint, I said fishing trip! We have had so much rain, hot weather, and the Hubby has been a little under the weather, we actually hadn’t been fishing in a while. I still keep up with all the fishermen that pass my house and they actually told me not to waste my time. Said the water was too hot, too much trash and the only reason they went fishing was just to get out of the house and spend the day on the lake.
It took forever to select what he wanted but finally with a basket full of stuff, we proceeded to the checkout counter. I always run back and forth to see who has the shortest line and guess what, there was my favorite person, just standing there smiling, just waiting for me. As I was putting my things on the counter, I proceeded to tell her that I had brought the Hubby along with me and she just smiled and asked me the strangest question, are you that lady that writes the lake column in the newspaper? I looked at the Hubby and he grinned, then I looked back at my friend and said, “Funny you should ask such a question?” The Hubby quickly got busy making sure I had all my bags tied and taken off the “little round” thing that holds your groceries that I forgot to even answer. You see I have been known to forget my groceries and leave part of them at the store. He is not much better, he forgot to get his glue!
I will tell you that the Hubby and I went fishing all day. We ate our snacks and had a great time just enjoying the moment. Till next time, love your neighbor and the sweet person that always help you with your groceries at Walmart. Bye now!
