Greetings from The Antioch Community.
Hope you had a good week. Sure has been some hot days.
Got some tops and caps through the mail last week from Jo Havener. We sure do appreciate her and each one that helps us out. Got a call from Mrs. Yarnell and she said she was bringing me some.
Thank you Ladies. Our church really does appreciate you thinking about us. We hath to have 400 pounds to get a bench for our church. So we are grateful for all the help.
Cheryl Flewallen was to have had surgery on Wednesday. We hope she does well. Remember her and all the sick in your prayers.
Joyce McIntosh is having health problems. Hope she can soon be feeling better. We miss her at church.
We went to Barkley Lodge on our Senior Outing Friday and had a great trip. The food was delicious and enjoyed by all. We came back by the Wrangler Campground and Melba drove all through the campground. We sure saw a lot of campers and pretty horses. Even saw a mule.
Melba drove around a big beautiful church around Hopkinsville. I don’t remember just where it was at. It said, “The House of Prayer.” Those going were Melba, driving the church bus, her great grandson Brently, James & Cynthia Thornberry, Harry & Sheila Epley, Marcie Patterson, Jennifer Delk, Betty Laster, Patty Campbell, Dolores Harris and myself.
We have a clothes and food closet at church. Our W.O.M. ladies met there Tuesday afternoon and classed out the sizes together. Thought maybe some of the flooded people in Elkton could use them.
The W.O.M. Ladies were Melba, Marcie, Karen, Cynthia, Louise and Kay Thornberry helped us.
Karen and Michael Christian hosted the 93rd birthday dinner Sunday after church for Juanita Key and her family. There was a large crowd that attended and lots of food to eat.
Visiting at church Sunday to be with her mom (Juanita) was Irene White from Clarksville, Tenn. , and her friend, David Atkins.
Melba, Marcie and I attended the Logan Todd Quarterly meeting on Tuesday, July 12 at Woodlawn Baptist Church. Sure enjoyed a wonderful salad and dessert dinner. The guest speaker was Stacie Livingstone and her daughter, Mercy. She was really good. And Mercy was a good helper. The new officers were installed by the Pastor, Bro. Kenny.
Fifth Sunday night we will have ice cream, dessert and movie night beginning at 6 p.m. If you have a freezer, bring homemade ice cream, otherwise bring a dessert.
Both tears and smiles bring God praise.
We are having ripe tomatoes and are they good.
Have a good week.
