Greetings from The Antioch Community.

Sure is bad about Elkton being flooded. We sure have had the rain.

Our two groups from Antioch Baptist Church have returned home from their mission trip. One group went to South Dakota and worked on a home. Melba had the before and after pictures in the bulletin. It sure made a difference on the outside. They plan to go back in the fall and do the inside. The other group went to Oklahoma and worked with Bro. Jimmy and Penny Kenner.

Our pastor, Bro. Clardy, turned the Sunday night service over to these two groups to tell us about what all they did. They also showed pictures.

We were glad to have J.V. Jenkins back at church Sunday morning following his hip replacement. He said he was doing real good. It is amazing what the Doctors can do with the good Lord’s help these days.

We were also glad to have Dorothy Henderson back at church following her fall.

Some July birthdays are: Bradkley McKinney 10th, J.V. Jenkins 13, Gail Sears 16, Juanita Key will turn 93 on the 17th. Please send her a card or give her a call at Melba’s home. Jimmy Christian on the 30th. Hope all have a very special happy birthday. Richie Flewallen on the 15th.

The Seniors will be going to the “Golden Coral” on August 19th. Make plans to go with us. We leave the church at 10 a.m.

Don’t forget that we are still collecting plastic caps and lids to get a bench for the church.

I was glad to see Barbara McKinney at WalMart last week. She said she was thinking about joining our Tops group. We would be glad to have her. We weigh in between 8:30 and 9 a.m. The lesson is 9-10 a.m. at Logan Memorial Hospital in the cafeteria. You are welcome to come and join us. We will me you welcome and help you in any way we can.

My cousin Joe Delk had to have surgery again Thursday. I went to see him Wednesday morning. He sure has had a rough time. So remember him in your prayers.

Had to keep an appointment with my Doctor in Bowling Green on Thursday. Rosie and Don Yarnell came in to see him also. She was walking real good that day.

My neighbor, C.W. Harris, brought me some fresh vegetable out of his garden. They sure were good.

Joy comes from putting another’s needs ahead of our own.

Have a good week.
