Here is it the middle of June and “BABY IT IS HOT”! I don’t know about you people but the humidity is killing me. Of course the Hubby has to remind me that there is always something wrong with the weather as far as I am concerned. He is right, I am never satisfied. Why can’t Mother Nature just let it be pleasant all the time!
Sunday we went to boat church and man I know I lost about five pounds. I nearly sweat to death. Of course the Hubby replied, it doesn’t look like it; all of you is still there. You know he really know how to hurt a girl. Men just don’t understand how sensitive women are about their weight.
They say that is going to rain today and I am praying that it will! I bet you thought you would ever hear me say that. Anyway, the lake has gone down finally and we can see the rocks on the water’s edge. The gravel in our yard looks awful, it’s black. The Hubby asked if I was going to wash it. For some reason, he is tired of me complaining about it. Also I need to practice what I preach, such as being happy! I hate to say it but he is right.
I must give you a report about what is going on here at the lake. I have had one friend who has had surgery, one who just put their new boat in the water and one who is going on vacation. Can you imagine someone taking a vacation somewhere else when they live on the lake! No way, not me, I am going to stay right here forever and ever.
I will report that the Hubby and I are still taking our “afternoon cruise”. You know there are some people who start something and the first thing you know you have forgotten to keep doing it. I will let you in on a little secret. He has not let me drive the boat this year. Says he is not through training me. Before too long I will be over the age limit of driving. There should be an age limit and a driver’s test. I discovered that long time ago when I see how fast and how crazy some of our younger generation drive on the lake.
I have notice lately that there are some who need their eyes checked. They can’t see my dock when they go whizzing by! One of these days, I will be reporting that I now have a “human body” plastered on the side of my dock. We had a guy last weekend that was testing his girl friends “vocal cords”. He was trying to see how much and how loud she could scream when he was zooming by. We have had two boat accidents this year and I just don’t think I can handle one in front of my house.
Will tell you that we did have a special cruise down the lake the other morning. It was great! One person had not been on the lake in twenty years and the other couple was “blown away” with the beauty of the lake. He said he had eaten at Shady Cliff many times and often wondered what the rest of the lake looked like. We were so happy to share Mother Nature’s work of art with them.
Well, it’s that time again. I must say good bye again. Till next time, enjoy life and look around you to see if you can put a little joy into someone’s life. Bye now.
