Good morning. I am writing on a very cool Saturday morning. Of course before long we will be saying gosh it sure is hot. We are a complaining people.
I had a very good surprise last Wednesday night when the youth group from church came and visited awhile. It sure made this ole gal very happy and I appreciated them thinking of me too. Their leaders are Patrick Coursey and Ronnie Rosser. The kids were Garrison and Sheridan Rosser, Ross and Sloan Coursey, Dakota, Brooklyn and Brian Utley, James Wheeler, Bailey, Bethany Borders, Camille Hendley, Seth Schweers and Cassidy Jernigan. Also here were Marvine Borders and her caretaker Julia. We had kids in the floor and the chairs and all around. As I said it made this ole heart rejoice to know they cared enough to do this. And please, do it again!
We are very proud of our graduates. They were recognized at Elk Lick last Sunday morning. Those graduating from 8th grade were: Bailey Borders, Bethany Borders, Emily Lee and Elias Parsons. Elias was not able to attend. Those graduating from high school are: Madison Jernigan, Garrison Rosser, Abby Arnold and Ellis Chase. Neither Abby nor Ellis were able to attend. Those graduating from college are: Evan Harris, who was not able to attend and King Simpson with his Masters Degree. You know we are proud of all of you and wish you the best in the future.
It was good to see Lana Wells at church this past Sunday. She has had a lot of medical problems lately.
John and Jessica Sweeney and the girls of Charleston, South Carolina arrived in Spa Saturday afternoon at his mom’s Elaine, Stanley and Tara Fleming’s house. They will be here several days and while here, will make a trip to Fort Leonardwood, Missouri, as they are in the process of being transferred from Charleston, South Carolina to Leonardwood, Missouri. They will be going there to find their living quarters. You know Uncle Sam is always transferring their men and women to different areas so they will be a little closer, so we are proud of that.
Well, the temperatures were down to 37 recently. You know me, I’m cold again. However, it is a pretty day out while writing my column. See ya next time.
