Here it is another week. Since it is still raining, I will tell you that I got quite a few nice comments about my Mother’s day column. Not only do I send my words to Mr. OJ at the paper, but I print them off and mail them to some personal friends out of the state of Kentucky. Yesterday I got a sweet call from a friend I have had for many years and she told me I just made her day. Not only was it great to get mail but she liked the fact that I still remembered her during the week. You see that is one of the reasons I urge you to send a note or pick up the phone. She is house bound and I know she was as active as I am now. You never know when the body is going to give out so as I have always said, enjoy the moment because that is all we have.
The economy must be getting better. I have seen a lot of new boats on the lake already. Dads and sons just fishing away. This is a great positive thing. I even got a shock when I went to Walmart and they were out of flower pots! I didn’t think Walmart was ever out of anything. I had to go over to the Mighty Dollar Store…..Imagine that!
I haven’t told you about my ducks lately. The other day, Ms. Big Bad Mother Goose came by and my little green head chased her back in the lake and was still quacking at her even when they reached the middle of the lake. You know it’s like a cat chasing a dog, it just never happens. But really I think he did not want to share his Cheerios!
Speaking of geese, bird season is upon us. There is nothing worse than looking out your window and your yard is covered with Geese! One proud Mother Goose was leading her little fuzzy chicks across the lake for me to see. All I could think of was now we will have even more geese in my yard. Forget going out barefooted. I think you know why!
Then on to a serious note! If you read my column each week you know that I am very aware of what happens on the lake. We had a very serious accident this past week and I truly hope all involved are on the mend. My only prayer is that it does not happen again. During the summer we have lots of young people and yes, old ones too that are on the lake fishing, skiing and just enjoying the water. I am asking you to please be careful and keep your boat at a safe speed!
The Hubby is already saying, I have talked enough, it’s time to SHUT UP AND GO TO SLEEP. He just don’t understand, time is passing by and I have so much I want to say. But you know I always follow orders from the Hubby. Till next time, Bye now.
