Hello friends, countrymen and patriots. What an election year we are having. None of us have ever lived through anything like we have witnessed for several months now. Trump has shocked, insulted and shaken the Republican Party to its’ foundations. He does not give speeches. He basically just repeats six to eight somewhat shocking areas of discussions. He rambles a lot, rants and raves and gets millions of dollars in free publicity. He talks about illegal Mexicans, building a wall, homeless Syrians, Muslims, NATO (North Atlantic Trade Agreement), minimum wages, NAFTA (International Trade Agreement.), creating millions of new jobs, attacking Hillary and attacking the Republican establishment or any Republican that has attacked him.
At the same time Trump has locked up the Republican nomination for President. He has created much interest, brought out huge numbers of voters. He has attracted millions of new blue collar workers and shook the Republican Party to its’ foundations. He has made millions of women mad and fearful of what he might do as President. Many Republican Party leaders are fearful that Trump may kill the party and cause the Republicans to lose their control of both the USA House and Senate. In the upcoming national elections this is a real potential.
As for the Democrats, who would ever have dreamed that Bernie Sanders could have given Hillary Clinton such a run for the nomination. Still in the long run Hilary is probably going to wrap up the nomination by California. Then all sights will be on the two national conventions. Neither will be dull. Both conventions will have record spectator numbers. Just look out for the demonstrations and lots of police. Both conventions have the potential of being the wildest and most disconcerting in over 100 years. Who knows what will happen with Trump. He could actually win the November election and restructure the Republican Party.
This is probably going to be the dirtiest national election in 150 years or more. There may even be a new political party born in the midst of all the drama, defeats, hard words and even harder feelings. I would not be surprised if the whole process of Presidential Elections in America are not rewritten. It really is time.
Kentucky’s Democratic Party Primary is this coming week. If you are a Democrat be sure to vote in this important election.
Till next time. Good night Mrs. Calabash where ever you are. So lone
